Quectel L70/L76 GPS Breakout Board
This board was designed to carry out some tests on the Quectel GPS for long term tracker use. The board can be plugged into a breadboard and is Mikrobus compatible. Note that on the PCB the positions marked for C1 and R1 are reversed, see the image on the page of the PCB top layout for the correct positions. If the assembled board is to plug into a Mikrobus compatible socket, note that the L70\L6 will be underneath allowing a ceramic patch antenna to be on top.
The schematic diagram of the board is here;
The L70/L76 are low cost GPSs that can be used with a simple wire antenna or stick on ceramic patch antennas. They have a high altitude balloon mode.
The performance of the L70/L76 is reported on here, together with instructions for using the breakout board.
